Love is a growing connection and as such is well-suited to the growing force of a waxing moon. Many witches, even those with a seemingly large body of knowledge and experience believe that love spells should be worked on a full moon because of its full force. Unfortunately, the results of these spells usually result in a short-lived love, a kind of crush, that seldom endures.
Love is an emotional bond that is best cured with steady growth over time. Waxing moons represent new growth; they represent development and establishment. In our personal lives, security and strong foundations are of the utmost importance for our emotional and physical well-being. Waxing moons provide the atmosphere for the grounding of major aspects in our lives. They are both the soil and the sun for growth.
Love rituals should also be performed with realistic expectations in mind. These realistic expectations include the understanding that sometimes Mother Nature really does know best and also that our cooperation with her guidance, even when it doesn't suit our wishes, is usually to our advantage.
Too many people perform love rituals expecting to get whatever it is THEY want instead of what will work out best in the end for all concerned. Far better it is to work a love spell or ritual with good intentions in mind and accept the results confident that what is best has been done than to agonize over something that, tough wished for, might have brought pain and suffering.
