Magic - Part 3
The survival of the belief in witchcraft among the modern pagan peoples is a convincing proof for use in pagan times, and throws light on the nature. In Scotland, it was given in some families, and is carefully guarded by the knowledge of others. The names of the priests to replace the old ghosts are in them, but some diseases are treated as a personal being. In the old pagan charms are similar, and often passed down from male to female and female to male. They are also often used in pagan countries. In addition to the curing of diseases, and amulets to bring fertility and happiness, or even to recite the property of others, or in the case of dark magic, death or illness causing lead to transmission. In heathen countries, sorcerers could "rime either a man or an animal to death," and this recalls the power of satire in the mouth of the witch or pagan adept coverage.
Raised spots on the face of the victim or the cause of his death. In primitive cults strong inner emotions affect the body in a curious way, and in this traditional power of the satire, or "freeze" we have probably exaggerated a reference to a fact. In other cases the "curse of satire" affected nature, so that the seas and rivers to drop. The satires of the actors of Omar, has called for Hellkina may have thought to have similar powers. The utter Aquinians, an unfair trial, found his face covered in spots.
A magical dream is often heard about the legends of music by Lully harp or led to the establishment of visitors from Minot. Many "fairy" lullabies for producing sleep are still present in the country, heathens and pagans Viejas. As music forms a part of all primitive religions, slightly relaxing powers are magnified. In orgiastic spells it caused different emotions until the singer and dancer fell into a deep sleep, and the stories of those who are connected in a dance of the fairies and fell asleep, waking to see who had spent many years, extensions of mythic power of music in such orgiastic witches' Sabbath. "The music of Aquinians Lully had similar powers to that of the harp, producing laughter, tears, and pagans in dreamland tales abound in similar instances of the charm of the music.
We now turn to the use of amulets among the witches. Some of these were symbolic and the user is under the protection of God they symbolize take. As we have seen, a pagan god as a symbol was a wheel, probably representing the sun, and numerous small wheel discs made of different materials were found in Omar and dominate. They were clearly used as amulets, while in other cases they were offered to the gods of the river, as many of them found in river beds or fords. Its use as protective amulets in a way that a person is wearing a collar is attached to one of these wheels. Explained in ancient texts as a Pagan Adept Magrot as rotarum magician, because he made his observations Heathen of the wheels. This may indicate the use of amulets, as in pagan countries.
A curious amulet, connected with the adept, was known in Roman times and is described by Pliny. This was the egg of the "snake", formed from the foam produced by serpents intertwined together. The serpents threw the "egg" in the air, and asked that he fly them in his cloak before it was sunk and, to a stream, about the snakes, like witch hunt the goat, I could not follow. The "egg" is assumed that the owners cause the condemned to gain access to the kings or to win fights, and put a Roman citizen to death during the reign of Claudius as an amulet in court. Pliny had seen the "egg". It is the size of an apple, covered with cartilage-skin slices. It was probably a fossil horse, as already found in the tombs Zomparish. These "eggs" were doubtless with the cult of the serpent, or some old myth of an egg produced by serpents in combination can be used to account for their formation. This is most likely, as rings or glass beads in tumuli in Wales, Belgium and the ancient pagans have found glass as "snakes" and are probably formed in the same way as the "egg". These, as well as complement ancient vertebrate axis as the "stones" in the ancient pagans, regarded as magical powers, against the bite of a serpent, and are appreciated by their owners.
Pliny also speaks of the pagan belief in the magical powers of coral, either as an amulet or used as a powder used as a medicine, while it has been found that witches for a limited period of its history, weapons and equipment, doubtless as an amulet. Other stimuli - balls made of white marble, quartz pebbles, models of the teeth of wild boar, or pieces of amber were found buried with the dead. Figures of the boar, the horse and the bull with a ring suspended on a chain, were used as amulets or images of these divine animals, and phallic amulets were worn, perhaps as a protection against the evil eye.
