Wicca, Wiccan Magick, Witchcraft, and Magic Spells

The terms “way right” and “way on the left” come from India with the metaphysical discipline of Tantra, and are employed in the Hindu and Buddhist forms of this practice. Tantra on the left (Vamachara in Sanskrit) differs from right Tantra (Dakshinachara) by the use of the elementary sacraments in the ritual one. Tantra on the left employs the real sacraments while right Tantra employs the products of replacement symbolic systems. Tantra on the left uses the tools and the practices which are taboos in the Hindu company of Brahmin. Based on these original concepts of explicit and implicit worship, to give an analogy of Wiccan, the great rite carried out symbolically by using the chalice and the athame is a right ritual. When the high priest and the high priestess really carry out the union by having the sex, it is a ritual on the left.

De Tantrics right sight often Tantrics on the left with the suspicion, given their violation of the social taboos by their rites of sex, eating ox, and drinking of alcohol. In the west during centuries, the things related to the left and manual left-predominance had a social mark. This is even reflected in English with the “sinister” word, which is the Latin word for “on the left”. Towards the end of 1800s, h.p. Blavatsky incorporated many aspects of hindouism and Buddhism in its work. It badly included/understood or changed deliberately the significance of the term “Vamachara”, because the suspicion of right Tantrics was appropriate for its ideas of Theosophical. It mentioned books of term “on the left” in all it as being synonymous with the magick with “evil” or “black”, and “right-hand side” as being synonymous with the “good” or “white” magick. Mrs Blavatsky was strongly influential with the Western occultism. Today much of experts and members of magick to the esoteric doctrines take it for grateful that “the way on the left” means that the “bad one” and “the right way” means “good”, without knowledge of their original context.

In the occultism of today, these limits can only be generalizations and simplifications. That must be underlined. There are some magic and occult organizations which apply the term “way on the left” to themselves, with definitions, belief, and practical changing organization in the organization. When people who are considered magicians “of right way on the left” use the term “way”, it want to say often little more than “we do not like what they” and let us be an attempt demonize the others. In the same way, when the individual-described people “pathers right” of call “of pathers on the left” they want to often say that they think these people are too preserving in their approach. Interesting, “left” also more liberal approach in the Western policy means as well.

As by magic speech, the difference between the way on the left and the right way are operating mode, methods. Generally, the way on the left is more explicit, direct, and carnal in practice, if not in the spiritual objective. The right way is ordered more, passive, and socially conventional, and according to the opinion of its experts more in the air with a spiritual aspiration. The average way tries to obtain balance and moderation, participation in the methods and the sights from both on the left and on the right, to form a synthesis. The goal over-arching is improvement of individual and/or world; just the illustrated language and the ritual one differ. However, it must specify, as in all the occult practices, there are exceptions and sights from time to time extreme on these subjects, and certainly some experts adopted the twisted image of Blavatsky of the way on the left as realization of a personal aspiration to be opposed so that others identify as a good.
