White Magic has existed in numerous forms and disciplines for tens of thousands of years that we know of, but recent evidence indicates it may have been known far longer. MIllions of people were accused and tortured and/or killed because of the fears of others — others who professed to be interested in the welfare of the masses and deemed certain groups as unfit for society. Even today, much of this sort of so-called "liberal progressivism," aimed at undermining the rights of the few and quietly subduing anyone they might deem "radicals", marches on. But thankfully, witches have fought bravely for liberties and have won many rights they were previously denied. These efforts have brought about a new dawn for practitioners of white magic and opened sources of enlightenment for the world.

White Magic Gains Ground

Due to the efforts of white magic practitioners, major milestones have recently taken place within the magical community. Old forms of white magic, long subdued and obscured, are seeing a resurgence of interest amongst young and old alike. Ancient practices and beliefs, long hidden, are being dusted off and revived, given new names, shiny, fresh, bright identities, and integrated into mainstream societies where they are being accepted as developments and innovations. Some of the most significant white magic beliefs and practices have even been successfully introduced to the western world as components of eastern religions and practices, which westerners somehow find easier to accept than anything that smacks of having Judeo-Christian roots.

Proponents of White Magic Rise Up

Proponents of white magic have also gained ground in many of the heretofore more conventionally dominated arenas. While in the past we have always had at least a small number of followers that were relatively well-placed, today we are experiencing real growth in certain key sectors. Mainstream religions, political parties, medical practitioners, legislators, school teachers, and self-help gurus are joing the white magic movement in droves. Granted, the individual movements carry various and more environmentally and socially "acceptable" labels, but the white magic message is buried deep in their hearts. Culturally popular proponents meanwhile carry the white magic gospel to the general population where they are finding widespread and even earnest acceptance of its tenets. THis is truly a marvelous time for those of us who have waited so long. If only our many frieds past could be with us in body — what a joyous revelry that would be!

We can only hope that the current worldwide trend toward unification and assimilation continues and that governments will continue to bend to the will of the Earth Mother. For if it does, we will soon see great improvements and a return to the earthy and natural lifestyle we so strongly desire and inherently deserve.
